Write For SG!

At Sound Generator we're always looking for passionate, talented new writers for news, reviews, interviews and features, willing to work within a variety of genres to provide up-to-date coverage on the latest in the Music World.

With our newer, sharper design we’ll be providing more news, more reviews and more competitions than ever before, with acts new and old gracing our new front page. This volunteer position gives writers an opportunity to play with all formats, be it 250-300 word burst reviews or long-form interviews with the biggest stars of the music industry, whatever your tastes and previous experience.

Established in 1999 and a popular site since its inception, Sound Generator has won over a regular audience of thousands by consistently challenging genre definitions, favouring diversity over niche reportage.

If you’re interested just e-mail the Editor (matt@soundgenerator.com) with your contact details and a quick introduction to yourself and your writing: What you're into, where you're based, what bands you've enjoyed reviewing/interviewing, what festivals you're heading to, what type of articles you're interested in writing etc.

Please also attach two examples of your writing, between 250-300 words, reviewing either a recent album or gig.

Successful applicants must be capable of working to deadline and express a passion for music in any form.
